Mother

You held my hand when I was small,

You lifted me each time I’d fall,

Your voice became my guiding call,

Your love, the greatest gift of all.

You stayed awake through every night,

To make sure I would be alright,

You turned my darkness into light.

Through every storm, you stood so near,

You wiped away each hidden tear,

You filled my heart with strength, not fear,

And taught me hope through every year.

Your sacrifices, deep and true,

In every little thing you do,

Show me a love so pure, so new.

No words can match what you have been,

My shield, my guide, my closest kin,

Through loss and fight, through thick and thin,

Your love has always lived within.
