War and Peace

A heart broke.

Thirty pieces of everything - shattered,

And debris all around,

A huge hole on the door - battered,

Safety was not around.

A heart broke.

Air raid sirens, bombs, gun shells everywhere,

Hearts were scared and scarred,

God heard many questions in His ear,

Asking why, voices blurred.

Then, God’s heart broke.

God sighed and said,

Written by men,

Cannibals, if you name them instead,

The souls of war and hate, all again.

And God had forsaken.
